Terms — written in plain language

An understanding, more than a contract.

We wrote these in plain language because that's how trust between people of adab actually works. Read them slowly — they're short, and they matter.

Last updated 19 May 2026

First, the truth about who's writing this and why.

Dakwah-Lens is built by Sukses & Berkah Group — a small circle of friends from a weekly halaqoh, mostly academics, some working in IT and data science. It is not a company. There is no investor. There is no commercial roadmap.

Everything you read, click, and generate here is a non-profit effort, offered freely, in the hope that it counts as amal jariyah for everyone who builds it and everyone who uses it well.

If you want the longer story, including who supervises this work, it lives on the about page. The terms below are what we ask in return for the trust you place in us.

§1

What this project is.

Dakwah-Lens is a free, non-profit tool for Indonesian da'i — preachers, teachers, content creators, and lifelong students of Islamic knowledge. The app helps you see what your ummah is talking about, retrieves grounded Qur'an and hadith references, and drafts briefs you can adapt. The goal, simply, is to help good people deliver da'wah that is more relevant, more rahma, and more rooted in the kitab.

§2

What you may use it for.

  • Personal study, khutbah preparation, and writing your own kajian / kelas / podcast scripts.
  • Non-commercial da'wah by your masjid, pesantren, ta'lim circle, or online community.
  • Non-monetized social media content — videos, posts, threads — provided you treat the AI output as a starting draft, not the final word.
  • Sharing, quoting, and adapting the daleel we surface (it's not ours; it belongs to the ummah).
§3

What we ask you not to do.

  • Don't resell access, package this app as a paid service, or feed it into a course/product you charge people for. The work is offered freely; please pass it on freely.
  • Don't use Dakwah-Lens to attack other Muslims, push sectarian or politically-aligned messaging, or contradict established ijma' on fundamental aqidah.
  • Don't pass off AI-generated briefs as your own scholarly work. Always do your own review before delivering anything to an audience.
  • Don't scrape the app, automate sign-ups, or otherwise burn through our limited budget — this is a small project running on a small VPS funded by the team and donors.
  • Don't use it for anything haram, illegal under Indonesian law, or anything that violates the hard rules our supervisor would not approve.
§4

About the AI — and the limits of it.

Every Qur'an and hadith reference you see in a brief is retrieved by semantic search from real kitab — never invented by the language model. That is the single most important architectural rule of this project. If we ever produce a daleel that you cannot verify against its named source, please report it immediately.

Everything else in a brief — analysis, audience framing, khutbah outline, social caption — is generated by an AI. The AI is a junior assistant working under your supervision, not a scholar. It mirrors your input, including the audience and tone you select, and including your own biases. Treat its output as a draft to be reviewed, sharpened, and approved.

AI-assisted. Not an authoritative fatwa. The religious responsibility for anything you say publicly remains yours, in front of Allah ﷻ.

§5

No guarantees, and no liability.

We do our best to keep the app up, the daleel accurate, and the classifier honest. We cannot guarantee any of it. Models change. Outlets change their RSS. Bugs happen. The app might be slow, down, or wrong on any given day.

Sukses & Berkah Group, our supervisor Prof. Nasruddin, and everyone contributing to this project bear no legal liability for content you create, audiences you address, or decisions you make based on what you saw here. By using Dakwah-Lens, you accept that the consequences of your da'wah are yours alone.

§6

Your data — what we keep and why.

We store the minimum needed for the app to work: your account, your generated briefs, anonymous page-view counts for our analytics, and any cost metadata we need to stay under the donor-funded budget. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party. We host inside Indonesia per UU PDP No. 27/2022 §17.

If you want to delete your account, tell us — we will. The longer write-up of what we collect lives on the privacy page.

§7

Changes to these terms.

We may update these terms as the project evolves. Trivial copy edits will happen quietly. Anything material — a change in scope, in data practices, or in what counts as acceptable use — we will announce by email to signed-in users and post a banner in-app for at least two weeks. The version date at the top of this page always tells you when we last touched it.

§8

Reaching us.

We are a small group, not a support desk — but we read everything. The best way to reach us is through the contact information on the Contact. Disputes that cannot be resolved by good-faith conversation are governed by the law of the Republic of Indonesia.

وَبِٱللَّهِ ٱلتَّوْفِيقُ

And with Allah lies success.

We ask Allah to accept this work as a small amal jariyah, to forgive what we got wrong, and to bless anyone — user, contributor, donor, du'a maker — who carries it further than we could.
